Secret email about the Post Office Scandal. Shh!

A mixed bag of goodies

Hello secret email friends

I hope you are all keeping well. There is a lot to tell you.

First – the Radio 4 series I have been going on about for a while has got a listing on the BBC website. Yes I know the magic disappearing Panorama got a listing on the BBC website and then it disappeared but lightning doesn’t strike twice, does it….?

Let’s hope not. The Radio 4 series is called The Great Post Office Trial, it’s presented by me and it’s scheduled to go out at 1.45pm every working day for 10 days starting on 25 May. That’s a week on Monday. Fingers crossed.

Free Private Eye Investigation!

You can now download the Private Eye Special Report on the Post Office Horizon scandal for free to keep forever, or forward to your friends who might be interested in that sort of thing. Amazing.

I have also done a wee update on the current state of things for the Post Office Trial website. Find out whether there will be a public inquiry into the Horizon scandal and much, much more by clicking here.

The future

When the trial concluded last year, I did honestly wonder what I’d do with myself in 2020. Given the epic nature of the litigation I could not imagine this story would get bigger. But it has. Already this year the Prime Minister has got involved, the Court of Appeal is dealing with one of the widest potential miscarriages of justice in recent times, Alan Bates from the JFSA is spoiling for a fight with the government, there’s a police investigation into Fujitsu and the Post Office has admitted it prosecuted more than 500 people over the last 20 years. Goodness me.

Thanks very much to all the new subscribers who have joined over the last couple of weeks. It’s great to see the numbers of secret emailers growing on a weekly basis. I am discovering what an excellent, well-informed bunch you are thanks to all the correspondence over email, twitter and the other channels. I really do appreciate it. If you ever want to send a message, just hit reply to this email. It goes straight to my inbox.

Right – I’m off to take my son to the park for his daily kickabout. One day he’ll get to play with his mates again, I hope.

Stay Alert. Push Pineapple. Shake the tree.

Nick
