Secret email about the Post Office Scandal. Shh!

No One Is Getting In A DeLorean

Hello secret emailers

Today’s report “No One Is Getting In A DeLorean” is up.

You’ll have to read it to find out why it’s called that.

I walked out of court with a sense that it was honours even today. The Post Office’s independent IT expert stuck to his guns in the face of a sustained attack from Patrick Green, QC for the claimants. The atmosphere in court was very much business as usual and I’m not sure huge blows were landed.

Nonetheless, we are a day closer to a conclusion to this saga, and it is all cross-examination under the bridge.

One thing that you do need to know is that the Post Office have just filed their request for permission to appeal the Common Issues judgment to the Court of Appeal.

It was sitting next to me in court all afternoon – two boxes of six HUGE lever arch files for their Lordships to peruse.

I’ve asked the Post Office for the document which outlines their Grounds of Appeal claim. We’ll see if I get anything.

The transcript for today is here and the collated live tweets are here.

I’m back in court tomorrow morning for more live tweeting. You can find that here.

Oh – and for reasons I don’t even understand, I told you Sam Greenhill from the Daily Mail is not on twitter. Two of my more eagle-eyed secret emailers have been in touch to tell me I am an idiot. Not only is Sam on twitter, but I follow him too. I did not know this. If you wish to contact Sam on twitter, you can find him here. I’m such a social media wizz, me.

Have a lovely evening – and thanks to all the new secret emailers who have been joining recently. Great to have you on board.

yours

Nick
